The Water Company (‘TWC’) is a The Hague (The Netherlands) based independent investment consortium, focused on the initiation, facilitation and completion of transactions with particular focus on making and actively managing innovations and direct investments in water companies worldwide.

Sjoerd Bos is TWC’s founding principal. After his history in USA, China and Russia, he decided to consolidate his experiences from mega quantity healthcare deals, investments in disruptive technologies and product development into the start of

At the age of 19 (after studying in Florida and California), Sjoerd Bos started his first company (a student newspaper). The newspaper became popular in all the 7 big student cities in the Netherlands.


At the age of 21, he moved to China, Shanghai and visited 30+ factories nationally due to self traded mega orders for the European healthcare and retail - e.g. customer: msf international. In addition he worked on entrepreneurial projects (such as launchfactory88.com) as a business developer for China Challenge Group (founder pureterra.com and organiser of world's largest water trade fair, see reference)

After China, he started working for Momentum Capital who made an investment in a disruptive industry technology (torrefaction) called CEG (cegeneration.com). He has written an advice report on the sale of the first 90.000 tons of bio-coals. Bio-coals are made from 100% renewable resources (biomass) made to generate CO2-neutral electricity efficiently in coal power stations (basically: a conventional coal replacer). See reference.


Sjoerd has also worked in Moscow, Russia on disruptive technologies that are still being further developed at TWC.

Paul Steinhauser: Lawyer

After 49 years of being an advocaat, specialized in Intellectual Property (abbreviated in Dutch as IE) and reaching the blessed age of 75 this year, I came to the conclusion that in stead of being an advocaat it would be more appropriate to act as the 'wise old guy', who will be able to assist and advice those who want tactical and juridical advice and guidance preceding or during matters regarding IP. 


I was a partner since 1976 in the firm Dutilh vanderHoeven and Slager, that merged in 1990 with the firm Nauta van Haersholte and became Nauta Dutilh. I left Nauta Dutilh in 1993 to set up my own boutique Steinhauser Hoogenraad Advocaten.

The firm is merged per 1-1-2010 with the patent firm Arnold+Siedsma. This merger means that the new Arnold+Siedsma offers all IP services inclusive prosecution under one roof.


I worked with Arnold+Siedsma for 3 years,  until the end of 2012. This is mainly a firm of patent and trademark attorneys, but they also have their own law department, chaired by Michiel Rijsdijk. During this period I was engaged by many clients for litigation services and drafting (licence) agreements.

Paul Steinhauser:

Having been involved in many national and international patent, copyright and trademark cases, his name as an IP specialist is well established internationally. The emphasis of Paul Steinhauser's activities now lies on providing second opinions, advice on litigation strategies, assistance in negotiations, proceedings and drafting licence agreements and secrecy obligations.

Robert M. Bryniak: Industry Expert

A highly motivated & results-driven senior executive with leadership experience in operations, finance and marketing, as well as with Public Private Partnerships (“PPP”). He is energized by change management, turnaround challenges, initiating start-up ventures & breaking new ground in medium & large corporate settings, particularly in the power, water, waste management and environment industries.

Experience gained through 20+ years with one of North America’s largest utilities with over $8 billion in annual revenues, combined with 3 yrs in international operations & sales with a small cap environmental waste management company in Canada and 15+ years in the power, waste management, water & wastewater sectors in the Middle East. Bottom line focused with exceptional skills in managing employees & establishing a team culture, along with board experience.

Golden Sands Management

Golden Sands Management Consulting specializes in providing strategic and operational advice to government and private companies in the energy, water, wastewater, waste management and environment industries, with a particular focus on Public Private Partnerships The Company also sources financing for new business ventures. The Company’s target market is Middle East & North Africa with clients in Saudi Arabia, UAE and the Sultanate of Oman, as well as North American and European-based companies interested in establishing a Middle East presence.
